- SUSTAINABILITY
The definition of sustainability is the ability to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In application this takes on many forms. At CKT we have decided to develop an internal team to address the different aspects of sustainability. The team’s focus is in three primary areas – recycling, systems and facilities. Each area has generated a list of ideas and is working toward execution.
Recycling
The recycling team is responsible for all aspects of recycling throughout the facilities, from the manufacturing floor to the office area. Examples of projects would be to increase recycling through incentives, to enhance the ease of recycling by providing containers / instructions and to conduct 5S events around sustainability.
Systems
The systems team analyzes how energy is being used across various systems and electronic equipment at CKT. The scope of this team encompasses everything from managing electronics recycling to adjusting power saving settings on laptops, printers and other equipment.
Facilities
The facilities team evaluates all energy usage across the plants. Projects include analyzing lighting, capturing rain water, geothermal water system, and using electric vehicles.
At CKT, we are continually striving to positively impact our community and environment. And through the formation of our sustainability council, we are making great strides.
